GivingData Email Types and Senders
Learn about the different types of emails sent from GivingData, including the email address from which each type is sent and how email replies are handled.
Several different email types can be sent from GivingData. Some are automated (e.g. a grantee portal intake form submission confirmation), while others are sent manually (e.g. an email sent from a record). This article provides details on the email address from which each type is sent, general information about each email type, and details on email replies.
The email address from which an email is sent depends on the email type. The following table displays the sender for each email type.

GivingData Email Types
Grantee Portal User Registration Email
This email is sent when a GivingData user clicks Send Registration Email on a contact record. This option is only available for new, unregistered, grantee portal users.

Grantee Portal Intake Form Invitation Email
This email is sent to an intake form's assigned grantee portal user(s) when a GivingData user clicks Send Invitation on the Grantee Portal tab of a request.

Email Sent from a GivingData Record
This email is sent from the Interactions tab of a record (e.g., request, organization, contact, payment, requirement). 
When sent, the email displays the sending user’s name with “(via GivingData)” attached at the end. 
Batch Email
These emails are sent through the batch email action from super search results.

Grantee Portal Intake Form Submission Confirmation Email
This email is sent automatically by GivingData when an assigned grantee portal user submits an intake form. Users can edit the confirmation email template for each individual intake form template.
Grantee Portal Intake Form Reminder Email
This email is sent automatically to an intake form's assigned grantee portal user(s) based on the notification schedule that was configured for the intake form template.

Grantee Portal Intake Form Comment Notification Email
This email is sent to the intake form's assigned grantee portal user when a comment is made on the intake form.

Workflow Task Assignment Email
This email is sent when a workflow has been added to request records manually or in batch.

Workflow Task Comment Notification Email
This email is sent to the assigned user and any followers of a workflow task when a comment is added to the task.

Email Replies
When a recipient replies to an email sent from mail@givingdata.com, in most cases the reply will be sent to the Reply To Address that is configured on the Portal Settings page in Admin Tools & Settings.

The exception is for emails sent from a record in GivingData. When a recipient replies to this type of email, the reply is sent to the GivingData user who sent the original email.
Users can check the delivery status of system-generated emails via the Email Activity Log in Admin Tools & Settings.
A user must have the Manage Users and Roles permission enabled to view the Email Activity Log.
