Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a two-step login process that requires users to enter their standard credentials followed by a verification code that they recieve by email.
Enabling MFA for your GivingData or portal logins adds an extra layer of security for the standard login. MFA is available at all pricing tiers and can be activated upon request. To enable MFA for your GivingData or portal logins, contact your Client Success Manager. You can choose to enable MFA for either the GivingData login, the portal login, or both.
Please note that if you have Single Sign On (SSO) and do not have the GivingData native login (standard username and password credentials) as part of your login page, this MFA will not apply to your GivingData site.
GivingData login with Multi-Factor Authentication
To begin the login process, enter your standard credentials for GivingData, which include your registered email address and password. Once you have entered your credentials, click Login to initiate the authentication process.
You will receive an email containing a verification code sent to the email address associated with your account. This additional step enhances your account security by requiring you to verify your identity before accessing your account.
Enter the verification code you received via email to finalize your login process.
If a user requests three verification codes in succession without successfully logging in, their account will be temporarily locked for 15 minutes. During this time, they will not be able to attempt to log in again until the lockout period has elapsed.
Users have the option to check the box labeled "Remember my device for 30 days." By doing so, they can skip the verification code requirement for subsequent logins on the same device for a period of 30 days. This allows for a more streamlined login experience without the need to enter a verification code each time.
Portal Login with Multi-Factor Authentication
To begin the login process, the portal user will enter their standard credentials which includes their registered email address and password. Once the user has entered their credentials, they will click Sign In to initiate the authentication process.
