Release Notes 5.1.1

Release 5.1.1, scheduled for deployment on March 23, includes launching two open APIs, site improvements, and several notable bug fixes.

GivingData Open APIs

Grantmakers of all sizes rely on GivingData as their Grants Management System but often want to share data with other systems in their tech stack. GivingData’s Open APIs allow you to pull data from GivingData, publish your grants data to your external website, and develop integrations with other systems.  Here are two common open API use cases for contact management.

  • Share updated contact data between GivingData and Salesforce and create contacts in GivingData from Salesforce.
  • Build an integration that pulls contact data from GivingData into an email communications system like MailChimp or SurveyMonkey.

GivingData now offers the following sets of APIs:

  1. Web Publishing APIs

  2. CRM APIs

Google Gmail Add-on Installation

The Google Gmail™ add-on supports seamless email integration with the GivingData platform. The Gmail add-on allows you to send email conversations to GivingData and record them as interactions within the system. The Gmail add-on is available at the Pro & Enterprise license levels and can be added to a Go license. Please reach out to your CSM for more information.

Batch Email Functionality Update

When previewing batch emails, the functionality to opt into sending a batch email has changed. When you proceed to send the batch emails, all emails with a valid recipient will receive the email unless you select the "Don't Send This Email" checkbox. The "Don't Send This Email" checkbox will opt the recipient out of receiving that email.

Accessibility Improvements

GivingData understands the importance of creating an exceptional experience for all our users. To this end, we are placing extra emphasis on accessibility enhancements throughout 2024.

  • The language of our web pages has been properly set, and now both assistive technologies and browsers can render text more accurately. Screen readers can load the correct pronunciation rules, and visual browsers can display characters and scripts correctly. In addition, media players can show captions correctly. Ultimately, this removes ambiguity for screen readers.

Notable Bug Fixes

With every new release, we address bug fixes that may affect your user experience. If you have any queries or concerns about bugs, feel free to contact our support team for assistance.

  • A bug that previously would not return an export or CSV file for large record (> 500) super searches has been resolved.
  • We fixed an issue where the download as a zip file failed within the batch edit functionality.
  • Scenario Planner did not allow decimal values to be entered for multicurrency requests. This bug has now been resolved.
