Bank Account Verification

Verify or reverify bank account information for an organization. Configure a setting to require this verification before using an account for payments.

Organization bank account management is available with the Pro and Enterprise subscriptions.

Once bank account information for an organization has been added, verification of the information can be logged. This verification can be made required before a bank account is used for payments.

Require Bank Account Verification Before Setting Payments as Paid

  1. Click the gear icon in the quick navigation menu.
  2. Click Payments.

  3. Click the pencil icon next to Require Bank Account Verification Before Setting Payments as Paid.

  4. Select Yes, and then click Save to enable this setting.

Once enabled, a bank account must be verified before a payment with that account selected as the method of payment can be set as Paid. 

In addition, any edits made to required fields for a verified bank account will change the Verified field to Unverified if this setting is enabled. The account will need to be reverified.

  • The user making the edit is alerted to this.

  • The primary staff, secondary staff, and followers for each active request for the organization are notified that edits have been made and that the bank account requires reverification.
By default, these notifications are enabled for all new users. 
    • A user only receives one notification per event, even if they are assigned as a staff member or follower on multiple requests for the organization.
    • The user who made the edit to the bank account does not receive the reverification notification, even if they are assigned as a staff member or follower on a request for the organization.
  • The bank account displays as unverified when selected for a payment, and the payment status cannot be changed to Paid until the bank account is reverified.

  • A warning icon displays next to the Bank Accounts tab on the organization record.

To create a checks and balances system, it is recommended to give the Manage Organization Bank Accounts permission to a certain set of users who will add and edit bank account details for organizations. The Verify Organization Bank Account Information permission can then be given to a different set of users. That set of users should also ensure that they have the “When verified bank account has been updated” notification configured

Verify a Bank Account

Follow the steps below to verify or reverify a bank account.

  1. Navigate to the organization record. 
  2. Click the Bank Accounts tab.
  3. Click the arrow icon for the bank account.

  4. Click the Verified field.

  5. Complete the fields, and then click Update.
