When experiencing slowness within your GivingData site, please follow the steps below to gather more information before submitting a Support Ticket.
Capture Error Messages
Sometimes an error message will appear in GivingData during a time of site slowness. If this happens, please take a screenshot of the error.
Clear Cache and Cookies
Site slowness could be related to your Internet browser. We recommend clearing your cache and cookies and attempting to reload the site again. If you're not already using Google Chrome, please consider opening GivingData in Google Chrome to see if this resolves the slowness issue.
Turn Off Google Chrome Browser Extensions
Sometimes browser extensions can interfere with your GivingData site. If you've recently added a new browser extension, it can be helpful to temporarily turn it off to see if this resolves the issue.
Follow the steps below to manage your Google Chrome browser extensions:
Open GivingData in Incognito Mode
If site slowness persists, try opening a new incognito window of Google Chrome. Then, login to your GivingData site and navigate to the page where site slowness was detected.
To browse in Incognito Mode, follow these instructions. If a page loads while in Incognito Mode, then the issue is most likely not with GivingData.
Test Your Internet Speed
Check your local connection speed by navigating to fast.com. It will take approximately 5-10 seconds for the site to determine your intenet speed.
Submit a GivingData Support Ticket
If none of the steps above resolved the issue, please submit a GivingData Support Ticket. If possible, we recommend including answers to the following questions and attaching screenshots that demonstrate the issue.
- What were you attempting to do in GivingData when the slowness occurred?
- Are other users within your GivingData site also experiencing site slowness?
- Are you working at the office or from home?
- Are you using Wi-Fi or a hard-wired connection, such as an ethernet cable?
- Is a terminal server, or remote desktop session host used in your office environment?
