Email Overview
Manage email communications with contacts in your site.
GivingData offers several options for managing email communications with contacts. Emails can be sent directly from the Interactions tab of a record, where replies can then be managed as well. An Outlook add-in and Gmail add-on are also available, allowing received emails to be efficiently logged as interactions in GivingData. Depending upon your GivingData subscription, the batch email and email template features provide additional efficiencies.
Send an Email from a Record
An email can be sent within GivingData from the Interactions tab of a record (e.g. organization, request, payment, etc.). The email is automatically added as an interaction on the record. Email replies from the contact are logged within the interaction, and staff can reply within the email thread directly from the interaction.

Outlook Add-In and Gmail Add-On
Users can install the GivingData Outlook add-in or GivingData Interactions add-on for Gmail. These allow an email received in either an Outlook or Gmail inbox to be efficiently added as an interaction in GivingData. The interaction can then be updated to include any email replies.
Email Templates
If included with your GivingData subscription, email templates can be created and used when sending an email from a record, or when sending batch emails in GivingData. The content of an email template can be edited before the email is sent.

Send Batch Emails
If included with your GivingData subscription, batch emails can be sent from the results of a super search. For example, a batch email could be sent to the primary contact for all grants approved at the last board meeting by running a request super search for all requests approved on the date of the meeting. The system provides an opportunity to preview and update individual emails in the batch before sending.
